new version of iphone app, android update (and apology to blackberry users)

Hi All –

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. While running a 5 mile turkey trot in the morning I overheard someone say the average person eats 4000 calories on Thanksgiving…so um, hopefully everyone did better than I did on the calories out – calories in formula.

Quick update:

-The new version of the iPhone app is now available as a free upgrade (requires the latest iPhone software so you need to update your iPhone if you have an old one which you can do for free by connecting your phone to your PC and iTunes should auto-update for you)

This version fixes some issues that many of you reported from the first version.

From settings, you can now use metric for both viewing and logging workouts and training plans

GPS workouts that are interrupted by phone calls or other phone events can now be resumed (whooops sorry about that one)

Much nicer look and feel

Workouts now include details in all training plans

Workout history and Training plans can now be viewed in a scroller

You can now log workouts for previous dates (also whoops)

Thanks for your patience while we got this updated. The first version was my first attempt with the iPhone and I didn’t know much but this one is much better so, please udpate, check it out, give me some feedback and if you like it give us a 5* rating in the app store and tell your iPhoney friends to check it out.

Also…Android version in development now

Finally, apologies to Blackberry users. I know I promised an app earlier. I hired a developer to work on it, paid him a $1000 down payment (which is a lot in the ontri till) and he ran off with the money. So while I really want to get this out there for the Blackberry folks, this was a setback and I need to wait a little bit to get some money in and to find a trustworthy developer for the app. Sorry for that folks. I should have done more homework before I wrote the check but I was excited to get this going.

Other than that, happy holidays to all and hope everyone finds time to keep moving during the season of overeating.

All the best,

Jon
