dizzy after cold open water swim

Message posted by: Sarah W.

HI there,

Just looking for some advice. I’ve been preparing for my first sprint (in just 6 weeks now) and have finally started open water swimming. It’s brutally cold but I’m learning to deal. Anyways, after swimming I am kinda dizzy and am wondering what’s up with this? I notice I have more water in my ears so maybe that’s it. Do most people swim with earplugs? Any other ideas? In the pool, I don’t have this problem. Thanks.
