The Olympic Triathlon concluded yesterday, after a very exciting Men’s finish with Germany’s Jan Frodeno edging out Canada’s Simon Whitfield with a winning time of 1:48:53! Among the top finishers were Bronze Medalist Winner Bevan Docherty of New Zealand, 4th place Javier Francisco Gomez of Spain, also from Spain Ivan Rana 5th, Daniel Unger of Germany 6th, America’s Hunter Kemper 7th 1:49:48, Denmark’s Rasmus Henning 8th, Igor Sysoev of Russia 9th, and finally Frederic Belaubre of France 10th. The remaining American’s were Jarrod Shoemaker finishing 18th and a total time of 1:50:46, and Matty Reed 32nd with a time of 1:52:30.
On the Women’s side, which was contested a day before the Men’s Race the top finishers were: Emma Snowsill of Australia with a finishing time of 1:58:27, 2nd place Vanessa Fernandes of Portugal, 3rd place Emma Moffatt of Australia, and 4th American Laura Bennett 2:00:21. Amongst the other American’s were Sarah Haskins finishing 11th in a time of 2:01:22, and Julie Ertel Swail 19th with a time of 2:02:39.
