First off, thanks for the encouragement Ron in the swimming thread. I feel like this is something I could do decent in.
Ok, so 2 nights ago I had my first anxiety dream about the up coming chicago sprint tri that I will be doing Aug 24th. To make a long dream short (because there were some really random other things in it that had nothing to do with anything.) I did not go to the expo to pick up my packet, I forgot all my swim gear and had to borrow on of my friends suits to swim in which didn’t fit properly, and I never put my bike in the transition area by the 5:45 AM time so I had to sneak it in. When it came to race time all I finished was the swim part(which aparently I can finish a half mile swim in 6:30 haha I wish), though I didn’t know I didn’t do everything else until I asked my mom and she told me an hour later. Anyone good with dream analysis? I hope some of you got a good chuckle. I swear I didn’t eat anything funky before bed.
Ok so this what I am actually freaking out about. Lately, my body has been extremely achey particularly my joints. Is this normal being one month out? I am for the most part following the training guide on here, but I have had to switch up some of the days to fit my schedule better.
My biking is, I think, getting better (thanks for the suggestions when I asked. They really have been a big help). What are the left hand gears for? I don’t ever touch them. Is this normal?
My running has gotten slower and I don’t know why. I know my joints are screaming at me so I am probably babying it a bit, but as a former cross country runner I am getting a little discouraged because I feel I should be faster than the 9 min or so pace I am currently running. Any suggestions?
Swimming is what it is. I might as well be a fish. Though I am getting a little nervous. Going to do my first open water swim Saturday because I haven’t had a chance to get out to the lake thus far this summer.
Any help would be greatly appriciated. Should I be taking some sort of vitamins, supplements, ect.? (Don’t say banana’s for potassium. They make me gag)
