In preparing for a 70.3 in May, I’m in a part of my training plan that calls for sport-specification. There is a swim-focused week, a bike-focused week, and a run-focused week. Each week includes the other parts as well, but it’s just very heavy on the one sport for one week.

My question: I was sick all this week and barely trained at all (and I already had a rest week last week). I have no problem “eliminating” a week from my plan, but which week to eliminate?

I initially switched this week (the swim week) for the run week, because the Y pool heater is broken all week, and I am already running a 1/2 marathon on Sunday. But then I’ve been sick all week and havent run at all. My weakness is the run, so I think I should keep that week. I’m equally strong (or weak) on the bike and swim, but I have a spin bike at home so those workouts are more convenient than driving to the Y. I’m stuck…cut the bike week or swim week?

(I guess I need to check the OCD posts…hmmm) Thanks for your opinions!
