I have never been this excited about going running before. This weather has me pumped, and I’m waiting on 3:30 to get here so I can go run the campus. I ran on Saturday further than I ever have outside. I ran for 1.5 hours and could have kept going but I had somewhere to be at 11:30 that morning, and at this time it was 11:35. I ran all over Murray! It felt pretty cool to just get out and know that I could run anywhere in this town that I wanted to from downtown to the ghetto to out 18th St. etc.
Today I plan on running 8 miles or 4 laps around campus. That should take me right at an hour. Then I’m off to watch the Racers win the first round of the OVC tourney!
Go Racers!

Not sure where everyone is on this site. I don’t have anything new on my end. I’m still doing the same ol same. Just lifting and running for right now. Haven’t set any new milestones or made any new progress really. Just keeping on keepin.
Are any of you other guys still alive or doing anything as far as training. I now have about 2 months until my marathon, and I have pretty much decided on just the 1/2 at least at this point in my life. I just get too bored to try and run for 3 hours to train, not even sure I could make a 3 hour run right now. I can’t even go to the concert after the marathon, cause I have to jump in my vehicle and head to STL since I have to work up there the next day. So that should be a fun drive, but at least my hotel has a down bed that night.

Well yesterday I went to the gym to do my cardio, but I was worried before I got there. All day yesterday including when I rolled out of bed and my right foot hit the floor I had a sharp pain shoot up the left cheek of my booty. Before any of you make smarta$$ comments, it was the outter cheek not close to the middle. Anyhow, I guess either during cycling, running, squats, or lunges the days before yesterday I pulled a muscle. I also had some slight pain in my right calf muscle.
Needless to say, I couldn’t run yesterday. I gave it a shot, but I almost fell down when I cranked the treadmill up. So I headed over to the bike and did an hour on it and got a decent workout in, well at least for the quads. The funny thing is that after my lifting this morning, and 20 min run at 6.7 mph (I could run this morning) I was at 154. So the weight has continued to fluctuate back to close to where I was last week, and my runs haven’t been near as long this week. I have ate well, and kept a pretty strict calorie deficit.
Anyhow, I’m headed home tonight for the weekend and I’m going to try and get my last cardio/running training session in tomorrow in Cadiz. However, the high for tomorrow is 35 and I’m not sure if I can bear that run tomorrow. So I may not get the last run in until Sunday evening after church.

Well I’m back at it finally. I had 2 great workouts in like 12 hours. Last night I went to the gym and ran 7 miles at around an hour, then I went to a spinning class. Maybe the most intense spinning class I had ever been to. The instructor of this class was a drill sergeant. I have never been sore from one of those classes in a long time, but this morning I was sore. Now that could have had to do with getting back on track with running along with the spinning class, but it was still intense.
This morning I woke up at 5 am, and did my fullbody lifting session as usual. Which I may switch over next week and do 5 lifting sessions during the week isolating body parts each session. They say that is good to switch up routines after a while, and I’ve been doing the same routine for a long time now. Then after the lifting session, I did 20 min of HIIT, very intense HIIT, my most intense yet. haha I did a 1 minute walk, then 1 min at 6.5 mph, then 2 min at 9mph, then 2 at 6.5, 2 at 9mph. I did 5 intervals with those speeds and times. I had never tried to run a full 2 min at 9mph with a 2 min cooldown at 6.5…I was winded to say the least. I’ll probably go back this evening to play ball for fun.
Anyhow, I’m out!

Well this weekend was definitely a setback in anything healthy. Was it the Super Bowl? Nope, it’s called a wedding with some old high school boys. There is no telling what I drank and ate this weekend, and I’ll leave it at that. Let’s just say that Friday night I was walking down the streets of Bowling Green in a wife beater in the rain, beating on the police station window, and hitchhiking home to a friends house. No, I didn’t go to jail luckily.
I’m guessing I put on about 4lbs this weekend, and I went to run yesterday and couldn’t do it. Every muscle in my legs would cramp up after about 1/2 mile of running. I think cramps come from dehydration if I remember correctly, so I’m hoping that the alcohol had me dehydrated and that I’m not setback that much in the marathon training. I’ll find out tonight since I’ve had 2 days of recovery from the partying, and plan on running for an hour tonight and then doing a spinning class for an hour. I went ahead and lifted yesterday and played a weak game of b-ball just so I could get active again. That was the first time in a long time that I had had 2 days of no physical activity in a row.
Anyhow the wedding went off great and I had a blast, just starting back to shed a few pounds. I looked the stay puff man yesterday where I was so bloated!
Marshmallow outtie!

Well not only was this XL Super Bowl weekend, it was also XL Tim Stark weekend. This was as bad as I have been in months. We had a fish fry Saturday night, and then Super Bowl party last night, so all I did all weekend was eat. I didn’t work out once, except to get up to find the remote on Sunday afternoon. I was scared to get on the scale this morning, but I only gained 2 pounds, so it wasn’t that bad.
Today we are back at it though. I got up at 5:15, still bloated from the night before and went and ran my mile at the gym. We then did our upper body work out, and we all had a little extra energy, due to our party last night. So it was nearly as tough this morning, but we are picking up the diet again tomorrow. I will post some new goals for the month and the upcoming months tomorrow, after we decide them in the morning.
