Sorry, I have been super busy. I got back in town Thursday evening, went and did some cardio and then went to the apple for Clarence Dobbins night…good times. Friday, I lifted and did some light rowing for cardio. Saturday, I got up and did over an hour of cardio before heading to Sikeston for a horrible health night. I drank and ate so much bad crap that night!

I woke up Sunday, and you can tell when your body isn’t use to junk food. I had so much water build up that I looked like Elvis before he died. I had this ring on that I was barely able to get off. Everything is finally starting to get back to normal with some good water drinking and eating better today and after playing ball and lifting last night.

I’m bout to get strict on myself again with food and no drinking. I was getting out of control for a while, but girls make me do that. haha I was having too much fun socializing. Man if I had started this weight program back in college, I may just have AIDS today! Anyhow, everything else is going well. I hit the 13 mile goal, I’m getting really close to getting the pullup goal, I’m sure I’m killing the BF goal, but we’ll see on that one. As soon as travel is over in 2 weeks, I’m going to knock out that 7 minute mile.

I’m off to Miami on Friday morning and can’t wait. I wish I hadn’t partied so hard this week so I would have looked better on the beach, but oh well haha. I’m limiting myself to 3 total drinks in Miami, which shouldn’t be too hard since one of the people I’m going with doesn’t drink at all plus I don’t want to be bloated on the beaches of Miami. Look out Diddy, here comes the LJizzle! haha

Peace and chicken grease,
LJ

P.S. Hella willpower Tim. I’m not sure what Dinh is doing, because I don’t see going without food for 48 hours as healthy, but hell I can’t do 30,000 situps like him either or run for like 24 hours either. I think I could handle all the training part, but my body is too use to eating to stop that for that long.

Boot Camp Day 3

Well I did not post anything over the weekend because if I had it would not have been positive. We started fasting on Saturday, and ended this morning at 6:45 a.m. I had one bag of popcorn this weekend (No butter, fat free, 100 calories) to kill the major headache I was getting, that is it. Over the weekend we started doing our daily exercises also. You are supposed to do 100 pushups and 800 sit-ups daily. So we started doing that on Saturday, only I didn’t do the sit-ups yet. I will start them today.

This morning I worked out as normal, only I felt at about half power, considering I hadn’t eaten anything in 2 days. It was chest day, so we decided to do dumbbells this morning. Light weights, lots of reps. Very intense.

On a side note, work is going great here lately, but today is awesome. My boss is opening a restaurant in the front of our new building, and we are hosting an open house tomorrow. So they are cooking in our kitchen here in our building, so it is full of the smell of Carrot cake, soups, pastas, and many other things. Got my mouth watering bad!

Update:
A great article to help motivate your weight loss plan…

Happy Halloween, I think I will dress up at Pat tonight, and lay on the couch all night long!

Boot Camp starts this Sunday. This is a very hard 2 weeks the Mr. Dinh will be putting me through. Emily is taking his Body for Life Class, and so as a result of her having to do it, I am choosing to do it. Here is the deal. For the first 2 days, and I think last 2 days, you fast. No food at all, just water. Then on Tuesday, he has your meals lined up for you, what you can eat. You are supposed to exercise 3 times a day, which is not that big of a deal, but the fasting part is going to suck. Anyway, I will give you a play by play of how it is going everyday, as I will post about it on here. They say though you usually lose 5-10 pounds while you are doing it.

Anyway workouts are still going great. Although this week has been kind of a bummer eating wise, but I think I keep thinking about next week, so it will be alright. We are now thru week 2 of our 24 inch Python plan, and I can tell a little bit of a difference. We still have 2 weeks left.

Come on Pat do something!!! Don’t make me come up to KC and drag you outside and beat you down!!!

Hey Ya-all!

just thought i would touch base and let you all know i’m still alive - i am still running every morning, (it’s chilly, around 30 to 40*) but i don’t run more than 3.5 miles - i did finish my workout class for breast cancer survivors - the instructor(28 yrs old) was very positive about me being able to do a tri - so that is my goal (hopefully) for next year - there is a group i am getting info about called “force” - i think they do tri’s and are cancer survivors - i’m not sure about that but i am checking on it - biking will be ok but the swimming will have to be worked on - just because the water is only 4 or 5′, a body can still sink - so not much to tell - this weekend is going to be busy with halloween parties, school stuff, and everything in general - i do wish someone would help push pat to do something - for some reason i can’t get him motivated - gotta go to work - yea i got a job (only 3.5 hours a day at the kids school) yes i am one of the LUNCH LADIES - i hope i don’t look as bad as they did when i was in school - oh well i hope everyone has a scarry weekend - see ya-all - deb :-)

It’s a Bust…Las Vegas Fun Police…

Well needless to say I did not post anything from Vegas. It was 10 bucks a day to use the internet, and that is one hand of blackjack, so I couldn’t justify it. It was also 25 bucks a day to use the gym at our hotel, so it was definitely not worth that. I was going to get up and run and do pushups and what not, but I didn’t – LAZY TIM!!! Anyway, it was a fun trip and a lot let stressful this time. Last time I went, we spent a lot of times at the tables, this time Emily was with me and we spent a lot of time just walking around. I got my exercise that way, as she wanted to see everything! Needless to say I gained a little weight while I was out there, because of the all you can eat Steak, Lobster and Crableg buffet we found. I weighed in this morning and was back at 225, which isn’t bad considering how much I ate. Not to mention that Craig actually said it looked like I had lost some weight this weekend when I saw him, and he never tells me stuff like that.

Workouts though are getting back on track. This morning was 2 miles on the elliptical and then some major weights. I am having doubts about my running goal, but the other 3 should be about right on. I am on my strict diet again, and will follow it. And my workouts are still making my muscles burn, so I know I am doing something right. Now if only I can talk Emily into letting me go this weekend to see a Preds game in Nashville…

Funny story of the day. We have this little baby at church that is the cutest thing in the world. She is a little over a year old now, so she is starting to get active and even more fun. Her dad comes to the gym and lifts with us of a morning, so we are always teasing at church about the gun show. Well anyway, she has started showing her muscles to us. It is hilarious to watch her, she poses like the Ultimate Warrior use to, shaking and such. Very funny…

I was running….

Alright, I know this will be hard to believe after I was complaining about 4 miles in my previous post. I do think that fitness room was short on oxygen because it was so small, and maybe being short of breathe in that room for like 3 training sessions helped my breathing now or maybe it was being back on my homecourt today.

Well last night I lifted and played ball for an hour and half. Today was just a cardio day, and I planned on running for a new record of 8 miles tonight on the indoor track. Well after getting close to 8 (88 laps) on the track, I was like it would be cool to say I did 100 laps in this gym so I pushed for 9 miles and 1 more lap. Well once I got that far I started thinking to myself, “Hey, you aren’t even winded like you were the other night and you aren’t feeling much pain…you should go for 10 or all 13 tonight so you don’t have to push to get to 13 anytime soon. Well to say the least, I ran non-stop for 13 miles. I even ran one extra lap to make Tim happy. It took me pretty much exactly 1 hour and 50 min. That is 8.46 a mile which is about right for me when I set the treadmill.

I am worn out right now, the knees ache, the lower back is sore, and the balls of my feet are sore. But I am very pumped to know I’m 1/4 of the way to my goals. Well I’m going to finish eating, shower, and then go to homecoming stuff.

Talk to you all later.

It’s hard, but I stick with it.

It’s so hard to workout when on the road not just because of facilities, but the other counselors want me to hang out a lot. I have definitely done pretty good on the food thing. I eat oatmeal and some eggs and cheerios for breakfast every morning and then at the college fairs I dodge the cookies and just eat the veggies and dips and sandwiches or wraps if they have them. I even brought some string cheese and cottage cheese with me to keep in my fridge, oh and almonds. Last night we went to Ruby Tuesdays for the game and I had the salad bar, but accumulated about 6-8 beers (ultra, haha) on my tab. So those carbs weren’t the best for me.

As far as working out, I lifted and rode on Sunday. Then Monday I ran 4 miles on the hotel treadmill, then a little bit ago I ran for 37 minutes, 4 miles, and then rode the bike for another 25 minutes. So I do pretty good for what I have. Oh yeah, since I couldn’t lift today I did 150 pushups and 200 crunches this morning just to give the muscles some movement. It wasn’t 150 and 200 straight by the way, haha. I plan on getting in 3 miles of running sometime tomorrow, and then I’ll be back in the home gym on Thursday.

I’m worried about my 13 mile goal now, because I was spent after the 4 miles in this facility today. I don’t know if the oxygen was short in this room because it is so small or what, but man I sweat through everything I had on and was gasping by the end. I need to get off the road and train! Homecoming will be rough on me this weekend, but oh well. Oh the girl things are going well because I met a real cool girl this past weekend, but I need to grow some and talk to her.

Well first and foremost, let me say that the Cardinals will make this a series. They at least have to win tonight, so that I can get to Vegas tomorrow and put some money on the Astros. Why you ask? Because it was proven the last time we were there that whoever Randolph and I bet on, lost. So I am taking the Keohan luck with me for the Astros, and betting on them tomorrow night, if the Cardinals can only hold on for one more day.

This weekend was pretty bad, had McDonalds at 11 on Friday night because that was the only place still open when the football game was over, Fried Fish on Saturday, and Pizza yesterday. Didn’t work out much except for mowing my yard, but I still got on the scales this morning and weighed in at 223, so no weight gained, but diffidently none gone!

This mornings work out was intense upper-body. We did burn out sets on bench, peck deck, dips, triceps cables, and then seated bench press for form. The most impressive/painful though was the bench. It went like so:
20 reps at 115
20 reps at 135
11 reps at 155

Well we leave early in the morning for Vegas, so I don’t know that I will get to post again this week. I am taking Naber’s Laptop with me, but that doesn’t guarantee anything. I intend to work out, but I am sure the craps tables will be calling my name!!

PS has anyone seen Pat, Keohan, Debbie or anyone else that used to read this site. I think it is just Little John, Randolph and I now.

Well, today marked 5 days in a row of good workouts - so I’m happy to back at it 100%. I’ve logged about 4.5 hours on the trainer - which is awesome. I can really tell when I’m biking a lot, because the weight just melts off. I’m down to about 221, so that’s 5 pounds off since we started.

I need to be back to some running, or I may not hit the run goals - but, I’m sure the intense (wanted to puke today) bike workouts are helping that as well. I’m confident about the biking goal - but I need to find time and place to get out and ride it - 50 laps around centennial park doesn’t sound too appealing.

The swim is coming along nicely as well - we’ve had a couple really good workouts in the pool - and plan to keep that going.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well and making progress - keep up the awesome work.

Well I made it Sikeston, MO and am chillin in my hotel praying that the cards get a victory today. I had a fun and eventful weekend. Friday night I lifted and then went to the haunted house in Paducah, and met a cool girl that went with us. Hopefully I’ll get a date out of this, haha.

As far as training for the weekend. Well I dusted out the old bike Saturday night after sleeping most of the day from being up til 6:30 am and Randolph wasn’t even in town this time. haha I rode about 22 miles late Saturday night and it was awesome riding out through the country and paste Stark’s parents house. I almost hit 3 deer and they scared the crap out of me running in front of me in the pitch black. Then I rode again Sunday for about another 18 miles and then went and got my lifting in. I’m very positive that I may hit this pullup thing now, because I’m actually getting stronger finally. This week I’ll be in the bootheel without a real gym, so I won’t lift again until Thursday, but I plan on making use of the little fitness center in the hotel. I really want to hit this 7 min. mile by next week and get one goal checked off.

Oh yeah, my good deed for the weekend. I picked up a hitchhiker in Murray and brought him to Sikeston with me. I also learned that some hotels will take in homeless people if they get a voucher from the police station showing that they don’t have a record. I bought Ronnie a cheeseburger, diet coke, and a powerball ticket. It would be awesome if he hit the numbers. So if anyone runs across a 57 year old man from Alabama named Ronnie and he becomes a millionaire overnight, tell him to get in touch with me because he owes me $3…just messing.
